A LITTLE ABOUT MY JOURNEY....

Chris Edwards is orginally from North Carolina, growing up like many young men around America, playing sports and one day dreaming of hitting a walk-off home run in game seven of the World Series. However, he soon learned that he was not as gifted with athletic skill. That was never more true than the day his dad told him "Son, those who can not play coach and those who can not do either become broadcasters." So, as they say... the rest is history.

After spending his high school years working as the Public Address Announcer for a wide variety of sports, Chris attended East Carolina University where he majored in Broadcast Journalism which allowed him to spend eight seasons providing play-by-play for Garner High School, where he established the Trojan Sports Network that he grew from 40 listeners in its early stages to thousands of listeners by the time Edwards left his position at Garner. In addition to providing the Play-by-Play for most Garner High sporting events, he also sold all adveristing for the Network along with securing and producing a weekly one-hour coaches show on the state of the athletic department.

Following eight years at Garner High School, Edwards was lucky enough to have an opportunity  to work with one of the nation's premiere athletic departments as he was hired to provide the play-by-play for all Duke University baseball games via GoDuke.com and on the Blue Devil IMG Sports Netowrk. Adding to his play-by-play duties, he has also hosted a weekly Duke Baseball Coaches Show.

His work at Duke is not limited to just baseball, he has also provided play-by-play for Duke Men's and Women's Soccer, Volleyball and has been the Public Address Announcer for selected Duke Men's and Women's Basketball contest. His work has also been featured numerous times on ACC NetworkExtra, ESPN3 and the WatchESPN app for sports such as football, men's basketball, volleyball, soccer and many other Olympic sports.

Prior to the 2016-17 season, Edwards was named the radio play-by-play broadcaster for the Duke Women's Basketball program, broadcasting all games solo in addition to hosting the Coach P Radio Show. All women's basketball broadcasts air locally on Buzz Sports Radio and worldwide on GoDuke.com and through the TuneIn Radio App.

He has also spent six years working with Time Warner Cable SportsChannel in North Carolina serving as the play-by-play announcer for a weekly high school football and basketball Game of the Week broadcasts while also providing play-by-play for mutiple State Championships for a variety of sports, including Olympic Sports such as softball, baseball, soccer, volleyball and even cheerleading.

Currently, Chris lives in North Carolina with his wife Kelly and dog Gabby.
